You’re allowed to want more than just getting through the day.

Let’s build a life that feels like yours again.

Ready to be heard? I’ll remember the small things. Need help figuring out the next best thing? Let’s collaborate on a plan.

Maybe something has happened recently that’s thrown life off kilter or perhaps long-standing patterns are no longer serving you. I’m Katie Kliner, LCSW. It is my passion to learn your unique story and help you forge a path towards your goals, growth and healing.

A woman with brown hair, wearing a black and white striped top with gold buttons and beige pants, sitting on a gray sofa at a cafe. She is smiling at the camera, working on a silver Lenovo laptop. On a round black table in front of her is a white cup and saucer with a hot beverage, the cafe has large glass windows showing an outdoor patio area with colorful chairs and trees.

My Approach…

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: CBT helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and how changing unhelpful patterns can improve the way you feel and respond to life’s challenges.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: DBT helps you build practical skills to manage intense emotions, navigate relationships, tolerate distress, and respond to life’s challenges with greater balance and intention. I do not offer traditional comprehensive DBT, which typically includes group skills training and between-session crisis coaching. However, I incorporate DBT-informed mindfulness skills and exercises into individual therapy when they may be helpful.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming and emotionally charged. I have completed EMDR basic training through an EMDRIA-approved provider.

Humanistic: Humanistic therapy focuses on the whole person and the belief that you have the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. Therapy provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand yourself, connect with your values, and move toward the life you want.

Person in environment focus: A person-in-environment approach recognizes that your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are shaped not only by your individual experiences, but also by your relationships, family, culture, community, and broader environment. Together, we consider the full context of your life to better understand your experiences and support meaningful change.
